Well I'm FINALLY back from China and since it's summer, I might get to make a pie or two!
Okay I have a few I know I need to do.
1. Kentucky Derby Pie. My friend Katie told me to do it ages ago and I NEVER GOT TO IT!!!
2. Banana Cream Pie. I was given an article recently about Kristin Chenoweth and her favorite foods and her fave dessert is THIS PIE!

WELL IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!
This has like absolutely nothing to do with the pie... well I might talk about it later... I've been talking with some people like my cousin about the whole Pushing Daisies thing and all I can think is "Screw you ABC!!!" but that's about it. Well I've been looking at some things and Bryan Fuller is hoping to make a movie or a 12 issue comic thing for Pushing Daisies to properly close the series. I think he should do both hehe but who knows. I don't even watch ABC anymore anyways.

MY LAST PIE!!! Well...for the month...
Made a cherry pie! Results to come once it's out of the oven and cooled down.
THIS WILL BE THE LAST PIE I'M MAKING UNTIL I RETURN FROM CHINA!!!
So far it looks REALLY GOOD!!! I watched like three Pushing Daisies episodes while baking this pie... I'm nuts!

Oh I Forgot!
I forgot to tell you some special things! The recipe for my special pie crust that has never been screwed up! (not Ned's from PD unfortunately... it's my grandma's haha)
3 cups flour
1/2 cup water
1 cup crisco or butter (or other buttery thing)
Pinch of salt.
1. Place cups of flour in bowl.
2. Scoop out the crisco until you have a cup (I recomend filling a measuring cup to 1 cup then spooning in crisco until the water reaches 2 cups then pouring the water out)
3. Pinch in salt
4. Add water little by little, scrunching the dough together every time you pour a LITTLE water in.
TIP: to have a dough that isn't quite so dry and crumbly you simply add a little more water than just a tiny drop every time and when you don't have too much just pour in the rest and scrunch.
Once this is finished roll it into a ball and flatten it out on the table. Oh and I forgot to mention that this is for TWO pie crusts so you'll wanna cut the ball in half or you're gonna get one big 'ol pie crust. Once it's in a flat round pancake thing just roll it onto the pin and slide it into your pie pan. Done! (well unless it's pre-baked in the recipe, then you put it in the oven at... something (420 degrees?) for about 20 (?) minutes). Sorry I'll check on the heat but it's usually not hard so you bake it with the pie.
NOTE: if your dough is dry and crumbly and the corners of your pan just use either water or egg yolks to recombine the crust.

I RETURN!!!
I AM BACK FROM HIATUS AND MAKING PIES AGAIN!!! To kick off this amazing phenomenon I am going to bake the favorite pie so far, strawberry for a special bedroom party since my friends finally finished their bedroom and no longer have to live in the living room!
Don't worry, I'll get back to the new recipes soon but right now this pie is the #1 favorite and I'll be making a rhubarb next I'm thinking (yay rhubarb season!)
